Job Specific Knowledge and Experience for this Director, Technology role. Manages a process technology group responsible for research, development and implementation in new products and extensions or enhancements to existing product lines, for cSi process equipment in the Solar Business group.
PhD is preferred in this position.

Knowledge and skills typically acquired by a completed BS in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science or related technical discipline (or equivalent knowledge), and 12+ years directly related experience; or MS in Engineering or related technical discipline (or equivalent knowledge) and 9+ years directly related experience.
Experience typically includes more than 5 years in a management capacity.
Preferred previous work experience: engineering experience with a semiconductor or capital equipment manufacturer.
Responsibilities:
Manages practical applications of scientific theory and processes in the development and ongoing technical management of the unit\\\'s products.
Participates in strategic planning to integrate research and development processes with both the unit and the Product Business Group\\\'s overall business plan.
Provides approval guidelines and leadership to reporting process technology managers in the area of long-term strategy related to process development. Leads alpha-engineering program regarding all process technology related issues. Responsible for alpha and beta product release for unit\\\'s product line. Interacts with internal and external customers on process issues involving the unit\\\'s product line. Defines performance metrics and reports on organization\\\'s progress against specific goals. Other duties as assigned.
