Engineering Project Manager, Applied Materials

Responsibilities

  • Develops project plan and oversees the projects from conception and planning to implementation, including strategies, processes and resources.
  • Responsible for managing project schedule and task details by utilizing project management tools such as reports, tracking charts, checklist and project scheduling software.
  • Manages allocated resources from other organizations to achieve on-time and within budget performance objectives for the project.
  • Manages cost schedule performance of equipment for internal and external customers and vendors worldwide.
  • Leads multifunctional design teams comprised of internal, external and/or matrixed headcount to complete projects.
  • Provides technical leadership to team members to achieve project goals.
  • Interfaces and coordinates with customers to define project objectives, provide status updates and prepare for release and deployment.
  • Provides engineering and business process expertise to project team and other members on various projects / issues.
  • Identifies and resolves potential complications within the project and develops solutions for resolution.
  • Manages employees (direct reports or matrixed reports); contributes to effective performance management, employee development and retention.

Tasks

  • Responsible for defining, planning, tracking and managing major engineering activities to include the appropriate delegation of assignments.
  • Responsible for identifying key resources and providing the direction required to meet project objectives, completing the project on time and within budget, maintaining required levels of quality within the project.
  • Ensures appropriate management, customer and supplier involvement throughout the life of the project.
  • Typically manages multiple engineering projects.


Job Specifications

Knowledge:

  • Requires thorough understanding of Operations Project Planning & Control (OPPC); materials and supply chain management, manufacturing engineering, value engineering, industrial engineering, and quality tools.
  • Requires knowledge of Visual Basic, Javascript; and platform processes to include Wafer Handling, Seriplex, DeviceNet, Vacuum, Gas Delivery, Pneumatics,� Mechanical, Software, Electrical AC, Control Systems, PCBA, Electrical/Electronics, RF.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong skills in change management, problem solving, communication skills, customer orientation, product technology, global business perspective, personal effectiveness, project management, team skills, and quality.
  • Demonstrated ability in Human Resources Management and Leadership.
  • Requires proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Visio, Powerpoint, Oracle BOM, Oracle NSR, Oracle ECO, FRACAS and PST.

Education and Experience:

  • B.S. level degree or equivalent in a related engineering discipline, or related technical discipline.
  • 8+ years directly related experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment, including 4+ years in a related management / leadership role.
