Project Manager, Applied Materials

Responsibilities

  • Develops project plan and oversees the projects from conception and planning to implementation, including strategies, processes and resources.
  • Project Management of Applied Solar Line installations, qualification, yield and ramp at customer sites. 
  • Ensure coordination of customer project related activities between all groups/programs, KPU, Account Team, AGS, CPSS, AKT, MAS, CAS, and Solar KPU, FT&P,  and Operations groups.
  • This includes as well contribution to effective performance management, employee development and retention.
  • Ensure good communication on project related information to all stakeholders to meet project objectives. 
  • Align stakeholders to project deliverables and timelines.  
  • Manage project schedules and deliverables. 
  • Focal point of daily customer interactions, with shared responsibility with BM group. 
  • Owner of customer action item list. 
  • Drives resolution of customer issues into organization and tracks closure. 
  • Appropriately escalates issues with customer schedule at earliest possible notice. 
  • Ensures no surprises in achieving solar line installation and factory sign off at customer site.
  • Provides technical leadership to team members to achieve project goals.
  • Provides engineering and business process expertise to project team and other members on various projects / issues.
  • Manages allocated resources from other organizations to achieve on-time and within budget performance objectives for the project. 
  • Leads multifunctional teams comprised of internal, external and/or matrixed headcount to complete projects.
  • High degree of willingness to travel (US and AME) - especially during start up phase of Solar fabs, for example: will be required to be at customer site 3 out of 4 weeks during first 6 months of start up activity.

Required Knowledge & Skills

  • Demonstrated personal effectiveness, project management skills, team skills, and quality
  • Demonstrated ability in team management and leadership
  • Requires proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Visio, Powerpoint and knowledge of Oracle BOM, Oracle NSR, Oracle ECO, FRACAS and PST
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English, preferably also Spanish and / or German

Required Education and Experience

  • At least B.S. level degree or equivalent in a related engineering discipline, or related technical discipline
  • 8+ years directly related experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Min. 4+ years in a related management / leadership role
