Process Engineer, SUNIVA

Suniva is presently building a Solar Cell manufacturing factory in the Atlanta Georgia metropolitan area.  The factory will be a 24x7 facility producing 50 MW per year of Solar Cells by mid-2009.

Reports to: Engineering Manager 


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the start-up and continuing operation of a 24x7 Solar Cell manufacturing facility (Some positions are second and third shift and may require work on weekends)
  • Monitor line performance using statistical methods and provide troubleshooting and feedback support to Operations in order to maintain and improve process control
  • Implement and maintain operator work instructions.
  • Work with Manufacturing Operations to achieve quality and output objectives
  • Support a program of continuous improvement consistent with company business objectives
  • Work with R&D to evaluate and aggressively implement new technology
  • Provide training as required to line personnel.
  • Attend scheduled corporate training and meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned
 
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • Four-year degree in a technical field, (Electrical or Chemical Engineering preferred)
  • Direct experience in process/manufacturing engineering
  • Experience with advanced statistics, statistical process control and design of experiments methods
  • Experience in Photovoltaics or other Semiconductor manufacturing is desirable
  • Experience with implementing or sustaining an Engineering Change program consistent with ISO-9001 or equivalent is desireable
  • Experience with implementing or sustaining lean manufacturing practices is desirable.
